Gurdjieff/ De Hartmann 1
In Gurdjieff's view music should above all
serve to lead humanity to an awakening. This music, which he called
objective music, requires an objective knowledge of nature, specifically
of the function and properties of the sentiments. When a certain note
is played on an instrument, another instrument nearby resonates the
same note. It is a law. When a melody plays the music of the universe,
the universe resonates, just as our interior universe resonates mathematically
in the same way. |

|
Gurdjieff/ De Hartmann 2
Following up on a research project unprecedented
in Brazil, the trio made up of Artur Andrés, Regina Amaral
and Mauro Rodrigues (piano and flutes) demonstrate how it is
possible
and fascinating to open a space in the cultural barriers between
the East and the West.
The music of the Sayyids and the Dervishes is an opportunity to come
into contact with the same atmosphere contained in the rituals and
sacred dances for which this music was written.
