Olga - The complete soundtrack from the film - Marcus Viana

For more than a year, the composer Marcus Viana worked to finish his first score for a film. In a sequence of his fruitful partnership with the director Jayme Monjardim, Marcus inspired himself in Olga’s letters – the true words of the protagonist – to create the soundtrack. The 25 tracks of the album ‘Olga’ present a classical style of the 30’s music, with detach on the violins, violas, cellos and choir voices. Marcus Viana played all orchestra instruments. The compositions, as well as Olga’s impressive history, goes over moments of joy and sadness. In the words of Marcus, “the soundtrack had to be melancholic but also needed to have the ravishment of that heroic spirit and at the same time, had to be extremely tender; the same kind of tenderness Olga had shown in her letters”.
Special guests: Nick Payton (sax and clarinet) and the soloist singers: Adriana Mezzadri, Roberta Lombardi and Rosane Viana. The actors Camila Morgado and Caco Ciocler interpret a Maiakovski poem.
