Moira - Maísa
Moura
Moira is the first solo work of the singer
Maisa Moura, that rises as one of the most sensible performer of
her generation. Before, she recorded with Makely Ka one of the most
beautiful and strange albums lately launched in Minas Gerais, the
Danaide (2006). Now, with the musicians Guilherme Castro e Vladmir
Cerqueira on the guitars, Avelar Jr on the bass guitar, Fred Malverde
on the cello, Sarah Assis on the accordion, and Léo Dias
on the glass "marimba" and percussion, Maísa presents
on stage a completely acoustic formation, where all the instruments
are micked, assuring a rare sonority for the tracklist of her first
solo album.Unpublished songs of Chico Saraiva, Makely Ka, Renato
Negrão, Mário Sève and Estrela Leminski, and
interpretations of Guinga, Aldir Blanc, Zé Miguel Wisnik,
Tom Zé, Elomar and Luiz Tatit songs, are brought together
in a poetic unity that stands out thru the sonority of the album.
In charge of the arrangments, Avelar Jr., Guilherme Castro and Vladmir
Cerqueira – at the same time dense and concise, escape from
the obvious and dialogue with the lyrics, showing a refined taste.Maisa's
performance on studio reaches refinements, normally only obtained
on the freedom of the informal rehearsals. Her singing is not classifiable.
Its fluid and gifted with a texture that so rough as soft, so strong
as so delicate. A voice that can be felt with the tact; incarnated;
alive; Maísa, is with no doubt, the most sensible singer
of the new generation of performers of Minas Gerais. |
